Exploring Islas de Gigantes: A Travel Guide to the Island of Giants

White Sand Beach

Islas de Gigantes is an island within the larger Western Visayas. It is part of the municipality of Carles, Iloilo, Philippines, and the northernmost part of Iloilo province.
I'll share with you my recent travel to the Island of Giants (Isla de Gigantes), along with my expenses. I booked Air Asia last month. The flight was free because I used my rewards points through the Air Asia membership app. I also booked my hotel through a travel book and stayed one night at City Corporate Hotel Iloilo.

Before heading to our main destination, Isla Gigantes, I was able to tour the city at night. The city lights up beautifully after dark, with bars and coffee shops everywhere. I enjoyed a walk along the esplanade, a peaceful promenade that runs alongside the Iloilo River, offering beautiful views of the bridge.

Late dinner at Butot Balat restaurant.

I booked our island tour and van transfer to Carles port in advance. The next day, the van picked us up at 4 am, and we arrived at Carles port at 7 am. Our island hopping tour began at 8:30 am, covering four islands: Tangke Lagoon, Sand Bar Island, Cabugao Gamay Island, and a small circular island.

Isla Gigantes is a tropical paradise waiting to be explored.

This archipelago, part of Iloilo province, boasts pristine white sand beaches, crystal-clear lagoons, and dramatic limestone cliffs. Island hopping is the main attraction, with must-visit spots including the stunning Tangke Saltwater Lagoon, the picturesque Cabugao Gamay Island, and the expansive Antonia Beach. Adventure seekers can explore hidden caves, while foodies will delight in the abundance of fresh, affordable seafood, especially the famous scallops. With its unspoiled beauty and laid-back atmosphere, Isla Gigantes offers a perfect escape for travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path destination in the Philippines.

The tour package also includes a Seafood eat all you can.  It is really worth it.
